I got up at 7 and worked on packing. I was able to consolidate some things and recycle some bottles. I also time it perfectly to throw out a mini tube of toothpaste and I used the last four inches of my floss last night (don’t worry, I have another travel container for the rest of the trip).
We had fancy coffee and steel cut oats with blueberries and apples. After breakfast we went to Padden Lake to walk. We went all the way around the lake on a crushed gravel path. The woods were very pretty. All four of us and Penny went.
When we got back, it was time to quickly finish packing and eat lunch (which Sandra had ready for us). We had salad and lasagna. We hopped in the car and they drove us to the Bellingham Airport. We dropped off our bags and went through security quickly. I worked on posting pictures to my blog before our flight. We flew to Seattle. The flight was only 25 minutes. Each side of the plane only had two seats. Tammy and I were in the aisle seats across from each other. It was a beautiful cool day. We had almost three hours at the Seattle airport. We walked around before finding an uncrowded place to sit where we could charge our phones. I kept working on my blog. At 4:00, we headed to find dinner. We chose a little coffee shop that also sold Italian food. I had a three cheese panini and Tammy had penne with marinara. Her food took forever to arrive. I think they made the pasta fresh for her. After we ate, we walked to our gate. It was interesting because they had multiple planned for each gate. Gate 18 (where we were) had 18A, 18B, 18C, 18D, 18E, and 18F. We walked out our appropriate door and down a ramp and headed to a long hallway with multiple doors heading to airplanes. They had the destinations above the doors and they had to scan your boarding pass again to get on your flight. Tammy and I sat next to each other. Each side of the plane only had two seats. As we took off, we could see Mt. Rainier. It was a beautiful clear day.
I worked on writing my blog so that I was caught up. I just need Internet to post.
It was raining when we landed. They had warned us it might be a turbulent flight. It wasn't terrible, but the landing was a little bumpy. The Kalispell airport is quite small. The walls are made of bare wood that smelled great. We went down to baggage claim and it had the feeling of being in someone's basement. There were animal heads decorating the walls.
We saw lots of Alaskan frozen fish coming around the conveyor belt. My suitcase was one of the last to arrive. Dana texted me that they were right outside the doors across the street. We found them easily. Dana got the first hug. Mike loaded my suitcase in the back and we put Tammy's between us on the back seat. We drove to the campground which wasn't too far away. The rain let up while we were driving. The Lakes showed us the campground including the bathrooms and the rec room. We also took a picture with Mike and Dana’s flat grandsons when we got back to the RV!
We sat and visited and planned our hike for the next day before going to bed.
