We got up around 7. Tammy and I split a breakfast burrito and we also had coffee, grapes, and I had half a bear claw. We drove to Glacier and went to the Fish Lake trailhead. This hike also had a lot of elevation. Most of this hike was in the woods. We also saw lots of burned trees.

We could hear water running below us, but we couldn’t see it. When we got up higher, the ground leveled off and we walked deeper through the woods. There were lots of little pinecones on the ground. As we got closer, the mosquitoes got worse and worse. Tammy was getting eaten alive. We came to the lake and had to go down a steep hill. The lake had lots of lilypads and we saw some ducks swimming. We were hoping to see a moose or a beaver (we saw gnawed logs), but all we saw was a Stellar’s Jay and the ducks.

We hiked back down and I thought the mosquitoes were even worse. The hike was 6.25 miles in all.

When we finished, we went to Eddie’s Cafe again for ice cream. This time Tammy and I both got cookie dough. We looked through the souvenir shops. We both wanted to get a Glacier shirt. On our way home, we stopped to get a picture by the Glacier National Park sign. Someone offered to take a picture of “the whole family.” We also stopped at the Gateway to Glacier bridge. We also visited another souvenir shop, and took pictures in a big chair.

When we got back, we showered and then had dinner. We had chicken tacos that were delicious! Then we made s’mores over the campfire. We played one game of Password and then packed for our trip to Many Glacier before bed.
