Today was our last day at sea. We slept in until 7 and then headed to breakfast in the Lido Market.
We went to the World Stage at 11 to hear about life on a cruise ship. They had many different people share about how the ship works from the food to the toilets to navigation. It was very interesting and we found it hard to imagine how much food they would need for each voyage. They said they use more than 500 pounds of chicken every day!
We went to lunch afterward. They were doing a special event called Cake Me Away and they had tons of beautiful cakes. The one I got was kind of strange. I was told it had buttercream frosting, which is why I chose it. However, it wasn’t really cake but meringue mixed with frosting and nuts. I decided to have ice cream instead. They only served soft serve ice cream at lunch so I wanted to try it. It turned out to be the best soft serve ice cream I’d ever had!
We went up to the crow’s nest and played Farkle. Tammy beat me by a lot!
At 3:30, we got bundled up and went to the sea view pool to look for orca whales because that is when they said we might see them. The wildlife spotter said they had seen three orcas twenty minutes before we came out. It was cold and windy outside so after a bit we decided to go sit in the Lido Market and watch for them. We worked on the crossword intermittently while watching for whales. Unfortunately we didn’t see any. We ate dinner while still watching for orcas. We tried the rolls after hearing about the onboard bakery during the presentation. The rolls were delicious! We had been missing out! The dessert was also yummy!
We had tea, worked on our crossword, and continued watching for whales with no luck.
We went to the World Stage at 8 to see the comedian Hank Denson one more time. He was very funny.
When the show was over, we headed back to our room to pack and get ready for bed.
